Modern Rocks presents Un-Modern Carlos

As part of PrintAustin 2015, Modern Rocks Gallery are proud to bring you an amazing exhibition of work by celebrated serigraphy artist Carlos Hernandez.

The show will run from Saturday 17th January to 14th February

Opening reception is on Saturday 17th January from 6pm to 10pm with refreshments kindly supplied by Saint Arnold Brewing Co, Texas' oldest craft brewery.

Houston-based serigraphy artist Carlos Hernandez has designed and printed gig posters for such artists as The Kills, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon, Santana, and more. Most recently, he was selected as the official poster artist to design a commemorative poster for the 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival. His work has been featured in the 2011 Communication Arts Typography annual, the 2011 & 2012 CommunicationArts Illustration annual and was also recently published in the 2012 book "Mexican Graphics" by Korero Books-UK.

Carlos is a founding partner of Burning Bones Press, a Houston printmaking studio located in the Heights. 

Corporate work has included Live Nation, Goode Company, Underbelly, the Houston Chronicle, Hohner USA, Saint Arnold Brewing Company and more. One of his career highlights has been his work with childhood idol and hot rod legend, Ed “Big Daddy” Roth. Carlos’ work made its big screen premiere in 2014 as part of "The Amazing Spider Man 2: London Calling," where his poster for Florence + the Machine was included in the set design
