Robert Hewgley

Back in 1969, Robert Hewgley was a photography student in Durham, North Carolina. He went to a Jimi Hendrix concert intent on shooting expressive photographs - not snapshots or press photos. Shooting only with available light, Robert truly captured the drama of the event with intense images full of contrast and motion. The concert was one in the last US tour of The Jimi Hendrix Experience and these images could potentially be some of the last new photographs to emerge of Hendrix performing live.
