Signed fine art photograph of David Bowie by Alan Messer, taken at the Spectrum Arena, Philadelphia, April 28th 1978

Photographers notes:  I was assigned to photograph Bowie for a front page story, preceding the "Station to Station" British tour. We, a journalist, an RCA press officer and me, flew from London to Philadelphia to get the story. Upon arrival, we were told that Bowie preferred not to be photographed performing. I tried, in vain, to meet with him to discuss the situation. I will not miss a picture, so I took my Nikon to the show, fortunately Bowie gave us great seats. I got the photograph and it was published on the front page. The show was fabulous. He was fabulous.
