RAY CHARLES

Ray Charles was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist best known as a pioneer of soul music. Blending gospel, blues, jazz, and R&B, he created a sound that was both deeply emotional and universally resonant. With timeless hits like “What’d I Say,” “Georgia on My Mind,” and “Hit the Road Jack,” Charles broke musical and racial barriers throughout the 1950s and ’60s. His soulful voice, impeccable phrasing, and boundless creativity earned him the title “The Genius,” making him one of the most influential and beloved artists in American music history.
