THE PRETENDERS

The Pretenders, fronted by Chrissie Hynde, emerged in the late '70s with a mix of punk attitude, new wave style, and melodic pop-rock. Known for songs like “Brass in Pocket” and “Back on the Chain Gang,” the band balanced toughness with vulnerability. Hynde’s distinctive voice and songwriting made the Pretenders a standout act in post-punk and rock.
