Ann Richards Driving Her Car by Scott Newton
Ann Richards by photographer Scott Newton, driving her car with the State Capital in the background from our exclusive collection, The Scott Newton Archive.
Available for the first time as a signed, limited edition photographic print.
Photographers notes :
In ’82 I was hired to do a shoot with Ann Richards, then a Travis County Commissioner. She was running for Texas State Treasurer and needed images. She was a marvelous person, funny, smart, friendly, and thoroughly Texas in every way. She had the slowest, thickest drawl coupled with the quickest wit I’d ever experienced. She was a delight. This is before she was Governor, before all of that. Here, she was just Ann, navigating us around Austin in her big huge boat of a car, regaling us (Doug Zabel and me) with hilarious stories…
You can add framing to your print purchase if needed, or simply order the print unframed. Our framing service is provided by a reputable, local professional custom framer here in Austin. Prints are framed in a classic museum-style frame using archival techniques. This consists of a 3" white matt, plain black wood surround, and conservation clear, UV-protected glass. Upgrade to non-glare museum glass for an additional fee.
See below for print size and edition information, comes with a certificate of authenticity.
