Produced in a strictly limited run of 1,640 pieces to mark 40 years of the M-system, the M6J revived the classic top-plate of the original M3 while retaining the M6's TTL metering. It is widely considered one of the most desirable modern Leicas ever made. Collected by photographers in the lineage of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Sebastião Salgado, who built their language on the discreet rhythm of the Leica M. The 'J' stands for Jubiläum — German for 'jubilee'. Each body is individually numbered on the top plate.
