TYPE 35mm Mechanical SLR
The R6.2 is the rarest of mechanical Leicas — a fully manual SLR with a 1/2000s shutter that operates entirely without batteries (save for the meter). Its hush-quiet shutter and tactile controls make it a tool for photographers who treat each frame as a deliberate act. A favourite among fine-art photographers and discreet portraitists who valued mechanical reliability over automation. Production ended in 2002, marking the close of the mechanical SLR era at Leica.
