Leon Russell by Scott Newton
Leon Russell, taken in Austin by photographer Scott Newton from our exclusive collection, The Scott Newton Archive.
Available as a signed, limited edition photographic print
Photographers Notes: Leon Russell. 1973. Austin. In the early 70's, other than straight ol' sh*t-kicker Country, Leon Russell was about as big as it got in Texas. He had a distinctive, blues-rock style, heavy on piano rock tunes, with sensitive love songs occasionally thrown in. He was the major draw to the '74 Picnic at Bryan/College station...I doubt half those kids who went to the Texas Motor Speedway Picnic knew who Willie was...they were there for Leon.
You can add framing to your print purchase if needed, or simply order the print unframed. Our framing service is provided by a reputable, local professional custom framer here in Austin. Prints are framed in a classic museum-style frame using archival techniques. This consists of a 3" white matt, plain black wood surround, and conservation clear, UV-protected glass. Upgrade to non-glare museum glass for an additional fee.
See below for print size and edition information, comes with a certificate of authenticity.
