Roky Erickson by Scott Newton

from $700.00

Roky Erickson, taken in Austin by photographer Scott Newton from our exclusive collection, The Scott Newton Archive.

Available as a signed, limited edition photographic print, comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Photographer’s Notes: Roky Erickson. early 1974 or late 1973. He was at a party in Clarksville, an old freed slave community that has now been absorbed by Austin. But, at the time, a very old (80+) black man named Uncle Seymore, the son of a freed slave who had built the house Unk still lived in, loved the hippies who would come party and play at his house and they loved him back... This is one of my favorite Roky images, made when he was young and absolutely brilliant.

You can add framing to your print purchase if needed, or simply order the print unframed. Our framing service is provided by a reputable, local professional custom framer here in Austin. Prints are framed in a classic museum-style frame using archival techniques. This consists of a 3" white matt, plain black wood surround, and conservation clear, UV-protected glass. Upgrade to non-glare museum glass for an additional fee.
