Alan recalls: “I flew down to Austin from New York to photograph Stevie Ray Vaughan's album, IN STEP (his last solo album). The photo session was like playing a long gig. It is one of my longest, but most productive. Having vamped through a few moves to warm up. We got the "In Step" cover first, then the "Pride and Joy" picture. We both knew we had the photograph, but we had much more to do that day, so we jammed on for hours. Stevie was a lovely man and I am still a big fan of his music.”
