Tom Waits on Stage 1977 by Scott Newton
Tom Waits, taken at the Austin Opry House in 1977 by photographer Scott Newton from our exclusive collection, The Scott Newton Archive.
Available as a signed, limited edition photographic print, comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Photographers Notes: Tom Waits' tour of Fall 1977 was a classic in many ways. He had a lighting /staging concept that was stark and elemental, accentuating his rough, stark poetry/ songs...perfect for my style of photography...all abstract and pure form...exactly what I love to shoot. So, I made the most of the opportunity and created one of my favorite performance portraits.
You can add framing to your print purchase if needed, or simply order the print unframed. Our framing service is provided by a reputable, local professional custom framer here in Austin. Prints are framed in a classic museum-style frame using archival techniques. This consists of a 3" white matt, plain black wood surround, and conservation clear, UV-protected glass. Upgrade to non-glare museum glass for an additional fee.
